DDA Water Leak Detection

I'm now offering deployment services with two certified water leak detection dogs, Flash and Flare. If you're a municipal water system, rural water district, public works department, or leak detection company, you can put them to work in your service area.

Driven by purpose. Relentless by design.

The Cost of Non-Revenue Water

The U.S. loses roughly 6 billion gallons of treated water every day to leaks — about 2.1 trillion gallons a year.

That's enough water to serve more than 19 million American households for a full year.

Every drop was already pumped, treated, and disinfected before it disappeared underground.

Why Use Dogs?

All sensing methods have restrictions. Acoustical equipment is less than ideal along roadways, struggles with plastic pipe and deeper mains, and depends on quiet that busy service areas rarely have. None of that is a flaw — it's a limit. Working around limits is where dogs come in.

Proof in the Field

Results from a multi-stakeholder pilot study funded by Cherokee Nation demonstrated that all leaks later confirmed through acoustic investigation had first been flagged by canine teams. During follow-up evaluation, acoustic equipment was able to verify approximately 26% of canine-marked locations; however, 100% of acoustically confirmed leaks originated from canine-detected areas. The remaining canine-flagged locations likely represent leaks too small for acoustic methods to detect at the time of testing — exactly the kind of early-stage loss that's most valuable to catch.

Canines do not replace current sensing methods.

We enable thier more efficient use.
